Living the Dream is the best. What more can we say? We've been diving with Living the Dream since 2011, and they are the dive operation against which we measure all other dive operators when we visit other islands. Check out their website at https://www.livingthedreamdivers.com.
Living the Dream Divers also offers private charter options. Take the whole family and spend a morning, afternoon, or the whole day snorkeling at Stingray City, Coral Gardens, and Starfish Point or whatever destination you decide (based on conditions). Visit https://www.livingthedreamdivers.com for more details about charter opportunities.
Turtle Reef is a great site for both shore diving and snorkeling. A 60-feet mini wall runs parallel to shore, which makes it easy to navigate. Entry is easy from the sheltered lagoon accessed at the bar at Macabuca. This is also a great site for night diving. To dive here, you must get tanks from the onsite operator Sun Divers. Check the website for more information: https://www.crackedconch.com.ky/sun-divers.
These are a just few of our favorite restaurants on island. Reservations are recommended.
Calypso is one of our favorite restaurants in the world. Start with the Shrimp Trinidad and Crab Cake, have the Fresh Catch, and finish with Millionaire's Shortbread or their famous Sticky Toffee Pudding (or both!) Their wine list is impressive, the service is great, and the setting on Morgan's Harbor is beautiful.
Calypso has amazing outdoor seating, as well as plentiful indoor seating with open-air doors all around. Make an early-evening reservation for the best chance for an outdoor table.
Ragazzi is an our favorite Italian restaurant on island. Their handmade pastas are to die for and their wood-fired pizza is outstanding. The wine list includes an extensive selection of high-end Italian wines. They are located in the Buckingham Square shopping center.
The Brasserie offers fine dining in the business district of Georgetown. They have a good cocktail program as well as a nice wine list. We have thoroughly enjoyed everything we've eaten there. They are not open on weekends or holidays, so plan accordingly.
Located on a natural saltwater lagoon on the edge of a bird sanctuary, Pappagallo is a little out of the way, but worth the drive. It's unique setting, the delicious Italian food, the extensive wine list, and the exotic birds on site all add up to a can't-miss one-of-a-kind experience.
Homemade limoncello at Pappagallo!
Here are a few of our favorite casual restaurants on island. No reservations needed.
Right on the water and attached to the Cracked Conch restaurant, Macabuca is our favorite tiki bar on the island. Have the calamari. You won't regret it. Snorkel or shore dive from their deck. https://www.crackedconch.com.ky/macabuca
Southern Spice is our go-to place for Indian food. They also offer take-out and delivery (with a minimum order).
Coccoloba Bar & Grill is located on the beach at the Kimpton Hotel & Resort, just down the beach from us. Beautiful spot and good food!
Eats is one of our favorite spots for breakfast, but they offer a lunch and dinner menu, as well. https://www.eats.ky
Paperman's offers a great selection of breakfast items as well as yummy sandwiches for lunch. If you're planning a picnic or doing a boat charter, this is the place to pick up sandwiches. Their location at The Strand on West Bay Road is the closest one.
